I've Killed a Man!

      I thrust the knife. Upon penetrating his gut, the cold
steel blade became a burning, pungent form. Crimson coated,
hands quivered as his body writhed in torment. His spirit,
crying out in anguish, muffled to a noiseless gurgle. The
putrid stench of bowel reached his flaring nostrils. Gasping
for air blurring eyes grew dim. Thunderous rhythmic beats
reverberated in his ears. Suddenly, weary, numb, content in
his paralyzed state, he listened. The pounding diminished, my
life relinquished. I lay peaceful, motionless, dissolutioned...
