Tanka, Short & Long Cinquain
Tanka
I.
Look towards the future,
at least that's what they tell me.
I ask to see tomorrow.
Their helpless reply:
"I think that was yesterday."
II.
Driving late one night.
Tired, time to find a motel.
Plenty of "No Vacancies".
We find one "dirt cheap".
The price sure speaks for itself!
Short Cinquain
I.
Work day
Early morn'
Dreary outside
She lay warm near me
Stay home
II.
Sunshine
Birds singing
Warm summer breeze
Lying on green grass
Dreaming
Long Cinquain
I.
No use
What can I say?
You're just too ignorant.
You are dreaming your life away.
So long!
II.
Trudging.
Wind blown snow drifts.
Frozen lakes go unseen.
Wind driven snow stings my wet face.
Homeward!
