This idea is one
that I dubbed as "The Communicator". It stemmed out of the simple fact that
I got tired of carrying my cell phone or my cordless phone around. They
weren't too practical to use while driving (not to mention that it is soon
to be illegal to drive and talk on a cell phone), or typing at the computer,
etc.. I found it nice to be able to pull over to talk while driving,
or to recline, and to talk in leisure.
I devised a unit that turns a cell phone or a cordless phone into a completely
portable hands-free speaker phone. All it needs is a sub-mini jack
input. The inputs are becoming the standard on many cell and cordless phones.
The phone can attach to an armrest of the wheelchair with hook & loop fasteners (Velcro®). See
below for pictures of the prototype and the specs.
